The Pages that Changed My Life

I  have two favorite children's books that shaped me as a child.  One was "The Cat in the Hat" by Dr. Seuss.  I remember being really proud that I could read that book to my daddy by the end of kindergarten.  The next book was "Jenny's Surprise".  It was a Little Golden Book about two kittens a little girl named Jenny found on a trip to her grandmother's house on the beach.  What our your two favorite books you remember being read to you or you reading as a child?

  1. Hello Kelly,
I love your family photos, you and your husband are a very fine looking couple, and Jenny looks like a cool kitty. I also have a kitty (well he is an adult cat, but he is still my kitty).

I wanted to say thank-you for taking time out of what I am sure a busy schedules all that educational data. I also enjoyed and appreciated the words of wisdom you posted in your blog especially the one you quoted by Dr. Deborah Stipek . Teachers/educators are role models even if they do not want to be. I remember as a young student in elementary how so many of my teachers appeared to be mad at the world.

I remember thinking how I would never want to be a teacher if being a teacher makes one that miserable as they appear to be.

  2. Hello Kelly,
I would like to thank you for posting such helpful resources. I can feel your enthusiasm and passion for working with children. The resource of Starfall is definitely useful in kindergarten classrooms. I know that you will continue to have a positive impact on the lives of children in Mississippi and everywhere. Best wishes!
